ABOUT Charyn Canyon
The "Valley of Castles" of the Charyn Canyon is over 150 km, and its age is about 12 million years, according to the most conservative estimates of scientists. In ancient times, the unique gorge was the bottom of Lake Ili, which the river Charyn now reminds us of, which flows through the canyon. It is not inferior to the Grand Canyon in the United States, since there are sheer cliffs 150-300 m high and 200 m deep. During the season, its turbulent waters form a powerful current, life-threatening even for experienced swimmers.

CHARYN CANYON NATIONAL PARK TIPS FOR VISITORS
When planning to visit the park, pay attention to:
- The most pleasant weather here is in spring and autumn. Chary Canyon in winter is characterized by temperatures from 0 to -6, and in summer the heat is up to +35
- We take photos against the backdrop of bizarre rocks at sunset when the ancient stone plays with all shades of yellow, orange, brown, and red as the sun sets.

From Almaty, you can get to the canyon by bus with an excursion, by taxi, or by booking an individual tour. Group tours leave regularly, mostly on weekends.
In the Valley of Castles, in the parking lot, mobile Internet is available, especially with Beeline. In the depths of the canyon, the signal is weak, and communication is not always available.
We recommend starting this tour when a child is 5 years old. The total length of the road is 400 km. It is very hot in the canyon during the summer. Protect your children from the sun, drink more water and cover your body from the sun.
